Granite vs Quartz:

Clients ask us all the time, what is the difference between granite and quartz?

Granite is a natural product, mined from quarries around the world, sliced into slabs and polished on one side, to give it that look you expect out of a counter top.  It being a natural product, it is a porous surface that will require that it be sealed approximately once per year to prevent bacterial growth and staining.

Quartz on the other hand, is a more man made product.  It has natural quartz particles mixed with a resin to create a non-porous surface, elimating the need for the yearly sealing.

Granite and Quartz Style Difference:

Another quality that quartz has is more sleek, modern and single color options.  Granite tends to have a more natural organic look to it.

So if you are looking for a more modern or contemporary look, Quartz might be the top for you.

If you want a more vintage or traditional look, consider Granite.  Both products are great choices - it is really just a personal preference.
